Superbar... love or hate?

In this screenshot we’ve got an active download started through Internet Explorer but no open Internet Explorer Window, that’s been closed, we’ll say accidentally.
What happens when we click the Internet Explorer icon to open another window? Nothing! At the very best all you’ll succeed in doing is minimising and restoring the download window. You won’t be able to open another Internet Explorer window until closing this download box.
Now we all know that you open the IE jumplist and select “Internet Explorer” to open a new instance of the program, but what about a novice user? The average person sitting at home or in an office will be completely confused by this as, while the jumplists are a good idea, there’s still a learning curve associated with them and, as we all discovered when businesses took a look at Vista, people don’t like learning curves.

but seriously, the average man on the street will be very turned off by this behavior. i know at work, i'm gonna have a hard time convincing them to upgrade because people aren't willing to spend the time it takes to learn new things. they like things the way they are, the way their used to so why change?

so windows button+3 = easy way to open internet explorer

or was it shift+windows+position? either way New Task bar is awesome

Nothing wrong with iTunes, i use it to manage my music, and because i own an Ipod..
And for the superbar, i like it, the aero preview is great, helps with windows live conversations and such

yeah...we know that and other tricks but I'm talking about the average user. they wouldn't have a clue. In my office for example, there's no way any of them would get their heads around the Windows 7 taskbar without a few hours training (at least). That means down time and a loss of productivity. That's the reason most businesses stuck with XP and didn't upgrade to Vista. I'm worried that the same will apply to 7

lol..i work in office with around 20 women (i'm the only guy in the office regularly). As the manager I'm gonna find it hard to justify upgrading to 7 when it will mean x amount of hours training my staff and then god knows how many hours helping and fixing problems until people are up to speed with the new os. I love windows 7, don't get me wrong, but if m$ are expecting the average user to upgrade then they are in for a rude shock. i can't see it being a huge success. people like XP. They know how to use it. They don't want to have to learn a way of doing things.

^^^ I would just take a few of your better workers and get them the RC to take home and get used to and slowly work it in that way. So you aren't the only one teaching everyone, should you decide to move to 7

That's a good idea if they were capable of understanding how to go home, partition their hard drive, back-up their data and set up a dual boot system. not gonna happen

i'll end up getting an open licence and loading it on my pc (and my personal laptop so it's a plus for me)

don't get me wrong. i LOVE windows 7. I'm just pointing to one example of why I think a lot of people would be turned off. I agree that people should spend a little time learning it and they would appreciate the changes but most people don't want to do that. They like familiarity and change is hard.

Superbar is more efficient, and joints ugly quick launch with taskbar together and makes perfect synergies together. Love it, love it, love it.
