Supported graphics card for my Dell Laptop

Hi there,

I have a Dell Inspiron N5110 15R laptop. It has Intel Core i3 processor (2.30GHz). I wanted to know if there is a graphic card I can put into it to increase the video memory. I really want to upgrade my Graphics performance by installing an additional video card. So, you guys please help me know if I can do that and what graphics card having how much memory are supported for my system?

You can not upgrade a laptops graphics card.

^ Like Anthony said, you can't upgrade a laptops graphics card. If you really want a good computer for gaming/video editing or applications that use a lot of video memory then you should get a desktop.

Well, that disappointed me a bit. So what I understand from these statements is that MY LAPTOP HAS NO WAY IT CAN BE UPGRADED OR IT HAS NO SLOT FOR ANY GRAPHICS CARD?

Well, if you're die hard extreme and would go to hell and back to change a graphics card for your laptop, you can get an expert at experting experts who are experts at their expertise of computering and get those guys to crack it open for you and find a way to change a card.

Most sane people don't bother, so I'm sad to say "YES" to answer your questions.

Laptops have very limited upgrade options usually limited to the hard drive, and RAM. Everything else is usually built into the motherboard. A processor upgrade may be doable if its socketed. You can't easily swap parts in and out like you can on a desktop PC. Some laptops have upgradable graphics. My Acer Aspire 5920 has very basic Intel onboard graphics and a slot to add a secondary card. Its empty because the upgraded video wasn't specified when it was ordered. I can add a card but it has to ordered from Acer (if they still have any) or bought second hand online. Its a custom made card that only fits that laptop. It's no easy job to install it either, quit a bit of disassembly required. To me its not worth the effort to try and find one and put it in and hope it works.
