switch between headphones and speakers, and cant get sound back

Watching youtube, and playing some games, and watching VLV --- whenever I switch between speakers and headphones the audio stops. I have to refresh the youtube page or reload the VLC video.

Is there a way to get around this?

I use autohotkey to switch, but that shouldn't matter. The problem is there when I manual switch via the sound menu.

If you can fix this I will be in debt. Ty

You should not have to manually switch anything when going between headphones and speakers if you use the correct jacks. The front panel connection on the motherboard should be used to connect to the case front panel jacks, and use the HD Audio, not the AC97 connection for the motherboard connection so it will auto sense.

Otherwise, a little more info on what you are doing.
