Alienware Not Automatically switching between headphones and speakers.

I have an alienware m14x and every time I plug in my headphones i have to manually switch between my built in speakers and my headphones. I just want it to be automatic...what do?

p.s. every time i plug in the headphones, soundblaster recon3Di control panel pops up, but then i have to manually switch the output.

Are you using the Dell supplied RealTek sound driver? If not, install this and see if it helps.

I didn't see a download for the Soundblaster software, but it may be in the "My Dell" downloads, that I can't access.

If you are using the correct Dell driver, suggest you consider reposting on the special Dell Alienware users forum for more help from those familiar with this setup.
