I just bought a New Asus x54c notebook, There are some problems i m encountering 1st: my synaptics pointing device driver is automatically disabled at startup .I have to manually start it from Devices and Printers<Mouse Settings.
After that it completely works fine. When i bought the laptop it was working fine ,maybe CCleaner did something , i double checked the startup items, its enabled. I checked at MSCONFIG too ..enabled. Cant find anyhting wat to do.
It will be too big to read so only that problem in this thread. Any help will be really appreciated. Thanks:)

Welcome to Seven Forums,

Have you done any driver updates at all?

If not, download the latest driver for your touchpad from here.
To get to the download select your OS (Windows 7 32-bit) --> click the plus next to Touchpad --> download the first version (v15.3.6.0 - Synaptics Touchpad Driver)

Post back if this solves the problem :)

some touchpad drivers disable the touchpad when a mouse is inserted. is here a fn key that disables the trackpad, it could be just a case of turning it on that way, on my laptop its Fn +f8 you may see an icon that looks like a trackpad on the fn keys try that. making sure to hold down Fn and then press the f key for the trackpad

when you install the drivers do you completely delete the old driver before installing anew?
if not try it that way round.

just registered so I could tell you how to fix the problem. seems that if you have the synaptics driver running when windows starts this happens. Just go to start run type "msconfig" go to startup and take the checkmark out of the synaptics driver, hit apply then restart. Fixed my issue.

Didn't work for me. I ended up adding an entry to the Registry. That worked. Here's how:

Add a new startup application
Execute REGEDIT and find the key [HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Run].

For each program you want to start automatically create a new string value using a descriptive name, and set the value of the string to the program executable.

For example, to automatically start Notepad, add a new entry of "Notepad"="c:\windows\notepad.exe".
