Solved Sys Res to previous dates restricted

With XP the period you could step back seemed more generous than with Win7. AFAICS now you can go back no more than about ten days, even when using show more dates.

Am I missing something: is there a tweak to extend the step back further, say a month?

I believe it depends on how much space is allocated for System Restore.

Control Panel, System
Click on System Protection at left
Select your drive/partition then click on Configure
Move the slider to change the amount os space allocated.

I have mine set to 4.3Gb and I get 11-12 restore points.

And sorry for tardy acknowledgement.

For some unfathomable reason overnight some days ago everything when phut; no internet, numerous system fault codes. and all windows updates deleted.

In end it all was traced to residual bits of security software that had failed to uninstall properly.
