system does not detect CD/DVD drive error 0x80070002

Hi John , Yah, I know I need a new battery, have no reddies at the moment.

Does the fact that it is knacked have to do with the CD/DVD not wanting to burn a Rescue CD or do I have to change settings in the "Windows Media Player " ?

You see, I never use that, but I saw Yesterday a thing called burn, perhaps I need to press that.

I sent you 2 different screen pages of this HWi tool. In the first one, I did the two Audio drivers and the Video driver, did you see that ? Did it come over ok ?

Sorry Thelma forget that one and no I cannot find a driver for the device you have maybe they will have to come though the Dell site which as you may know is less than helpful in my experience .

If you`re plugged in then the battery (good or bad) has no baring on anything.

Yep mate I was just letting her know cos the capacity is just about non existent, and if the internals are not much chop then it raises some safety issues because if you try and charge dud batteries it can have some nasty outcomes.

Well I don't know about the optical drive Thelma but the audio drivers would be ahndy.

Now, I hope I explain myself clear about this audio drivers updating business.

I have often deleted the 2 audio drivers in the Device manager. ( I can not roll back because they are still the original drivers ).

Not long ago I found out why, when Windows looks for a replacement, I always get the same old drivers back.
They look in Windows Update.

So, to eliminate that option, I have changed my settings in " search for updates ". Also, I have been finding and downloading other audio drivers ( from Realtec ).

Now, when I uninstall the driver and reboot, I still get the same driver from Microsoft back.

How can I change that ?. How can I change that and install a driver that I have chosen? If it does not work I can always restore.

But, what I am forgetting is why I started this thread, I still have this red cross in the right-hand corner with a flag ( 1 important message) all the time asking me to " insert a movable media "

Hello Thelma look I am not a fan of the Windows feature with drivers to be honest too flimsy for my liking.

Now one thing I do from time to time is to sue a second party software and the one for drivers is this https://www.slimwareutilities.com/slimdrivers.php now you need tobe careful when downloading this one not to also download other utilities - easily done if done hastily. But I have found it good in the past and as a rule thye get the drivers from the manufacturers sites ie Intel for example. They often have drivers that really are not needed so I just tick ignore on the GUI. It is worth a try if we cannot find the correct site and again I have never had any issues using that site.
One last thing I always uninstall the programm when done with it because it can nag a bit and if you have by accident downloaded another utility it will also nag. I do that by uninstalling from the Control panel or using Revo and I always check the registry HKEYS - LM and CU > Software for left overs
