Hi guys,

Ran into a bit of a problem that I cant see to get around. Hopefully someone can help me out here.
I was working on an androidstudio project and had to install an emulator which required me to go into the AppData path in c/. Long story short, I couldnt find it so I played around with some settings in the properties of c/users/"myuser", namely the attributes "Read only" and "Hidden" attributes of the folders themselves and the folders/files within them. Now there is a bunch of files and folders which are "missing" (Hidden) or "readOnly" from my desktop and my folders . Some real clusterf**k of a problem   Basically I would like to find out if there is a way to revert my user settings since I cant really tell at surface level exactly what is hidden or what has been changed to read-only.

So far I have tried to a system restore to no avail as well as trying to revert my changes but I cant seem to make that work either.

Any help would be appreciated. Thanks :):):)

Thanks for the reply @cyclops - more danger than anything really lately ! XD

So I did what you suggested and I can see the hidden folders now throughout my system and on my desktop. However, even though I can see them I have to manually uncheck their "hidden" status individually. Also, I am not exactly sure which things should be hidden and which shouldn't so doing it manually ins't feasible, the only one I know about is "AppData" which is typically hidden. Also, the problem of read-only status on many folders/and files still persists which seems to be a pretty major issue since their are programs on my computer with references and dependencies on files/folders which may have been set to hidden or changed to read-only during my messup.

They way I understand the problem it is that I have totally screwed all the attributes of all files and folders pertaining to my c/user/"myuser" which is also the admin account of my pc.

Is there anyway to reset these attributes to default entirely?

dontTinkerAgain, as far as I am concerned, if you would keep your hands out of the pot you wouldn't get burnt, just kidding. Un-check or check what ever you decide needs to be visible and the go back to control panel and hide the rest of the crap again.
You can call me Brian, just don't call me late for dinner and I am glad you are in better shape than 2 hours ago.
If I were in Denmark I'd hopefully be having a free beer?

I say,,,,That only applies to users, the programs that need to read /write can still do so

Have a great day.
