System goes to sleep but does not wake up.

I have a Samsung Q330 notebook about 2 years old.

Usually, the power management sleep mode shuts down the system, including the power switch indicator, which must be depressed to wake the machine back up and resume Windows. So long as the power indicator remains lit, it takes only a touch of the pad to start up again.

Lately, however, the system goes to sleep (as do I), but the power indicator stays lit. When I return, the system is completely unresponsive. I have to hold the power switch, shut down abnormally, then reboot the system from scratch.

Wonder if there are any thoughts as to what may be causing this sudden irritant to develop and/or suggestions to try and resolve the issue.

Did you install any new software or make any system changes just before the problem started?
Do you have a Restore Point and/or System Backup Image from before the problem started that you can restore?

You could try updating your video driver.

If a Memory Dump is created at the time of the Sleep/Wake Up problem, you could ask for help in the Crashes and Debugging forum.

You could try running a Trace to see if it helps determine the cause of the issue.

Interestingly, the issue fixed itself, perhaps with an update after service pack 2 was installed.

Service pack 2 is not out yet?

I'm trying a system restore with Samsung recovery solution. ..
