Hi all, have a small question - at present I have windows 7 on 1 drive (a), old xp on another drive (b) which has 2 partions and a 3 rd drive (c) in an esata bay. I have backed up windows 7 from drive (a) onto the external drive (c). I want to install windows 7 over the xp installation (b) with 2 partions. I have looked at the tutorial here but it does not mention during the recovery will I have an option to install to c drive on (a 2 partitions) and keep intact the second partion on the same drive.

Hope this makes sense, thanks

Do a custom install - it allows you to select the partition you want. Format the partition before doing the install - otherwise you'll end up with a "windows.old" directory.
