This has just started to happen (over the last week)...

After I did a fresh install of Windows 7 Ultimate, alot of the time I was on the Internet, a box appeared saying that it couldn't open the default mail client. After I installed Office 2010 CTP Beta, instead of getting the box saying that it couldn't open the default mail client, instances of Outlook started. At one point, I had in the neighborhood of 25 instances of Outlook open.

I thought it was something to do while being on the Internet, but it happens abritrarily, even when I'm not on the Internet.

I'm at a loss and it's driving me crazy. Anyone have a clue as to what would cause this?

I'm up to date on all patches and I'm running Microsoft Security Essentials. A full scan of the pc using MSE doesn't return any viruses or malware.

Thanks in advance.

Hi Jeff, welcome to the forums.

You may need to reset your browser configuration Control Panel -> Network and Internet -> Internet Options -> Advanced tab -> Restore advanced settings (or 'Reset')

You may have an addon which is trying to access Outlook. Also, try uninstalling Office 2010 TP, then re-installing and see if that has any effect.

Hope this helps :)
