Hi,

I've been having some problems with the trackpad on my laptop (cursor skipping whilst typing) and couldn't remedy it even with updating the drivers.
For some stupid reason I thought I'd try a System Restore and rolled it back about 6 weeks.
I wish I hadn't now.
Firstly I've lost my copy of MS Office, but am trying Open Office instead.
I've had to reinstall a few programs such as iTunes and Chrome.

What's concerning me though is the odd behaviour of the desktop. When I right click on a file to get the context menu, instead a box flashes up for a fraction of a second with a load of messages preceded by an "exclamation point in a yellow triangle" and then vanishes before I can read it, but NO context menu. If I double click on the file then it opens as normal.

This applies to anything on my desktop, video files, music, documents or shortcuts.

Any idea how I can remedy this?

The same thin also happens with some programs if I try to right click on them from the All Programs menu to try and pin them to the start menu. seems to be the same problem.

Any suggestions (other than, don't use System Restore) will be welcome!

Thanks
Mark

Aha. Turned out I'd actually rolled it back a year! The issue with the right click was being caused by WINRAR for some reason. So I uninstalled that, rebooted and now it's pretty much all back to how it should be.
