I restored my dell insprion laptop earlier and in the process it asks what drive to restore. I was surprised to see Recovery & C: were both check off by default. My question is, what scenario would anyone want to go back to an earlier time in their Recovery partition. I guess there may be a rare occasion when this is needed but to have it checked off by default has me wondering...

Are you referring to Windows Backup or to the separate System Restore function built into Windows?

Agreed. I use Paragon to BU my computer. I was curious though why a restore point would include the recovery partition. Maybe it's only Dell that does this.

With Dell. you have the bootngr in the recovery partition. Maybe that's why.

Check in Disk Management whether your recovery partition is the 'active' partition.
