HI vf1valkyrie,

Change your fonts

  1. Step 1: Open the 'Window Color and Appearance' window. Open the 'Personalization' window by right-clicking anywhere on the desktop and selecting 'Personalize'.
  2. Step 2: Choose a theme.
  3. Step 3: Change your fonts.
  4. Step 4: Save your changes

Do you backup your system?

As you are now aware System Restore seldom works when you need it. I can attest to that failure numerous times!

I deleted all my restore points, and disable it.

Backup to external hard drive and verify integrity, never has failed when I chose to reimage my drive.
We recommend AOMEI Backupper Standard (Free) and Macrium Reflect Free, the latter is more difficult to navigate the GUI.
I use AOMEI Backupper Standard
External hard drive are getting cheaper all the time.
For instance, I purchased a 4TB Seagate Backup Plus a few years ago for $160, and at the time that was a good deal.
Seagate Backup Plus 4 TB External HDD - STDR4000100 - USB 3.0 | $89 Ebay
Seagate Backup Plus 4 TB External HDD - STDR4000100 - USB 3.0 | $84 newegg

the fonts back to default now. thanks. I just feel uneasy now that the system restore has failed even though it is somewhat unreliable.

If you have the $$, investment in an external hard drive is insurance.
As I said, I deleted all my restore points and use external hard drive for backup.
Backup your system regularly, it's not a question of IF, it's a question of WHEN you will need it!

If you issue is resolved, please mark it so

One other important consideration - System restore is not a backup, it is a selective set of the originals of changed System files. an Image backup to an external drive, which is then disconnected from the system is a much more reliable solution.

In addition to this you should always backup your data - the system can be reinstalled, Yes it's a Pain but your Photos, documents and other items are unique, and if they are gone they are basically irreplaceable.

I have a lot of experience with major Networked Industrial systems, the system on any individual user workstation could be reinstalled in a matter of minutes, the data for the business was stored across more than one Mirrored drives, backup up regularly (on different cycles ).

You will not need to go to the length that a business goes to but your data is just as important to You as the business data is to them

I can't fix the system restore problem, might have to use the alternative softwares for that.

First and foremost, the word is software. It's plural and singular. The use of the words softwares or malwares just bugs the crap out of me.

Okay, no onto the issue. Can you go back, way back to when you were able to make a restore point and remember any software you installed prior to this issue happening? It may have been just recent with the Winaero tweaker. Before you even THINK about installing an OS (Operating System) tweaking program like that, you should at a minimum create a system restore point. The best method would be a straight up clone to an external USB hard drive (HDD) of equal or greater size then what your OS sits on now. I have used the free and pretty easy to use AOMEI Backupper. Though, it is a Chinese made product, but I have yet to find any shenanigans with it and I run all kinds of malware scanning software many never even heard of let alone use. Plus, I monitor my NIC (Network Interface Card).

If Winaero is still installed, download Revouninstaller and remove it. Be extra careful on the removal of registry settings. If the registry values have nothing to do with the program path, then I'd just leave them alone unless you know what you are doing. It's gonna fail on restore point creation, but you can omit that option being used prior to Winaero tweaker removal.

I say this may be a software issue because many years ago I installed Softperfect's RAM drive software and after I did that I could not create a system restore point myself. I tried everything I knew of up to and including a repair install and I still had a system restore point creation issue. Then I retraced my steps to what I installed prior to the issue happening and deduced it down to a few programs including the RAM drive. Once I uninstalled Softperfect's RAM drive software I was then able to create system restore points again. After all that time! Not sure what their RAM drive program is like now, but that's what happened to me.

You now have experienced what many others have, including me, when you need to use M$ System Restore, it doesn't work usually!

UNRELIABLE!
