Hi, guys
My system is Windows 7 Home Premium SP1 64-bit, newly bought on a new computer.
I tried a system restore to undo an installation of an incompatible program that wouldn't
uninstall – I had anticipated trouble, so I had prepared a specific restore point for that.
uninstall – I had anticipated trouble, so I had prepared a specific restore point for that.
The operation seemed to go well, with plenty of encouraging messages, until after completion of the
restart process. Then, when Windows was up and all seemed fine, an error message appeared:System Restore did not complete successfully. System files and
settings were not changed.System Restore could not access a file, probably because an anti-virus
program is running …… you can try advanced recovery method.
I tried a previous restore point – same result.
I'd appreciate any help, thank you.
P.S.: I'm aware of the numerous past similar threads in this forum, but I didn’t find any with a
happy ending. Maybe this time I'll get untypically lucky.
