Solved Tagging Folders?? (Setting Permanent Icons?)

So I'm a little OCD when it comes to icon customization.
I'm also constantly changing things around. Updating, renaming Icons.

I recently started Tagging MP3 and MP4 Files...and I love how it just embeds into the
file permanently. You can change computer and the image will still show.
Would there be any way to do something similar with Folders?

For example...software that can create a Standalone Portable EXE. that acts as a file container?
For some reason Windows seems to allow embedded icons in .EXE Files only.

Or a system hack?

I was really hoping Windows 8 would implement this...but pretty much nothings changed on the desktop front. I still have to...

right click > properties > customize > change icon > Browse > ... > Open > OK > OK

for like 400 different folders...
the moment I try to correct a spelling error on the icon...
I have to go back and change the icon again. :(

Any ideas?

yeah ...this seems kinda complicated...My login username is LAPTOP (On the label over avatar) ...then for some reason everything is saved on Desktop II..im not sure if spaces or Capitals are included in the cmd option..

Maybe I should look into Software that customizes .INI files?

No spaces, but I use caps if the name has it.

Make sure you save the .ini inside the folder you are changing, don't save it somewhere else and move it, it will not work.

I understand the .INI saving part...but the copy/paste in the CMD window gives the error
"Parameter format not correct" I must not be replacing the correct names in the ..

I think I'm going to create a new Administrator Account named "test" and try this again.
If I succeed there...can I put the folder on a flash drive and transfer it back to my original account??

That should work, as long as you cut and paste it (Ctrl + X - Ctrl + V) do not copy and paste.

wow...it WORKED!
Thanks for walking me through that Bongo!

Now I guess I have more work to do to set up my External Flash Drive folders...but once that's done they will work on any computer :)

just curious why copy and paste doesn't work?
Could the .INI file be deleted and re-saved?
Could I replace the Folder.ico with an update or would I have to
"re-save" the .INI ...guess I will try things out.

thanks again :)

Don't know about deleting and resaving the .ini never tried.
I have never tried replacing the Folder.ico but it should work.
