task backgroundconfigsurveyor:The task image is corrupt

If everything works properly, I believe importing the BackgroundConfigSurveyor will copy it to that location. Windows is probably complaining because the file already exists there. Try moving the file to your desktop first. At this point, it should no longer be in C:\Windows\System32\Tasks\Microsoft\Windows\PerfTrack. Then, import the file from the desktop.

Almost worked...still corruption

I followed the instructions in your original post ...but...task manager opens...but I still get the three pop errors...but whne they are closed task manager starts and appears to be intact ?

Any suggestions or should I just redo the whole procedure again ?

I would like to join this thread and solve it using Idolon's technique. My regedit skills are virtually nill and I'm not at all acquainted with how to reach the keys that needed editing. Can someone suggest a tutorial or user friendly intro?
