I can't install anything on my computer or run disk defragger because I keep getting error messages. Here is one:

"Disk Deragmenter cannot start because the task scheduler service is not running. Start the task scheduler service and try again.

I tried to mess around with the task scheduler but I still don't understand the problem.

I tried to start it and go this message:

"The Task Scheduler service on Local Computer started and then stopped. Some services stop automtically if they are not in use by other services or programs."

OK we are doing good
Go back right click on task scheduler, properties. Find out dependancies and make sure they are on.

If the above does not work

Type Regedit in search

Hkey Local Machine
system
current control set
Change start to 2

reboot

I did not want to give you this information, it is the registry. It will work, but you screw this up you screwed the computer. Start with a system restore point so you can go back. Also back up registry first.

It is not hard to do, but if you do it wrong, your computer will have problems.

Hm I don't see a start. Where do I put the 2 in exactly?

Do I put it in systemstartoption ?

Ok nevermind I found it. I rebooted my computer and I still can't get the thing started.

I actually didn't see a start, but there is a (default) type REG_SZ which is what I changed.

Windows 7
You put your cursor on schedule and you will see start. (redgdword)
Put the old change back to where it was.

If you do it right, it should work. The reg is the brain of the computer. If it does not work, I exhausted my ideas.
