Taskbar icons moving around randomly during a session

Having a recent problem with icons in taskbar moving around (not staying where I slide them over) during a session. What I have tried is this: after "unlocking the taskbar" is unselected, I then move the icons in the order I desire, then "lock the taskbar" is selected. This fails to secure their new location. Anyone have an idea as this has just recently become a problem.

Check the setting - else they may move.

I use "Combine when taskbar is full" and my icons stay put.
