Taskbar - Show no. of instances of an app

Here's to hoping the number thing becomes an option, or someone creates a little freeware to do this...

I hate to necropost - but, has anyone found a gadget to show the number of instances of a program currently running on its taskbar icon. XP and Vista had it. The overlapping icons are hard to see in a vertical task bar, besides which, it never shows more than 4 anyway.

Eventually, they'll dumb Windows down so that everything looks like edlin :rofl:
