Hello out there!

I'm having trouble with my task manager and the shutdown.exe won't run!

The story is: For months I've sat timer on the shutdown.exe through "task manager", so that I can fall asleep to a movie or whatever. It's been working fine, until a few days ago; I noticed my computer was still turned on when I woke up and I could see that it wasn't due to an update. The next time I tried, the same thing happened! So I tried setting up the shutdown.exe while watching the screen. A message popped up through a quarter of a second and disappeared again. So I recorded the screen, to check what the message said. And it was "taskeng.exe" with an error. I have attached a screenshot of it (please note that it's in danish - sorry!!!).

Info:
I proudly own a Windows 7 desktop computer. I think this is the first time I'm having issues with it.

I've already tried:
- To restart a bunch of times
- Run the "sfc /scannow" in cmd
- Tried to run the task manager as admin
- Tried to change something in the shutdown properties...?
- Installed all possible updates in Windows Update
And so much else...

Any help is thankfully received!! Thanks in advance!! :)

to uncover the problem, report back findings.

Can you set your timeouts in Power Options the normal way or will this not complete the job? I suggest 30 minutes sleep, 60 minutes Hibernate. This way your work is saved and startup is much faster.
