I have used teamviewer in the past without issue. This time, however I am using the teamviewer "app" on iphone to connect to home PC. I installed teamviewer at home, on my windows 7 machine. When it finished, I took a pick of the user ID and password on the righthand side. So I downloaded the app software. I place in, the correct user ID. I then placed in, the correct password. I get this message "the password you have entered is invalid, please try again". Any idea what am I doing wrong? I would have thought, when I attempted connecting to my home pc, that a password would have been generated, but not the case. The ID and PW were already present, after installation. Weird....DM

Teamviewer has two different modes, the standard two user help system where the user requiring assistance informs the helper of the password and then the systems are connected. This is the password that you are seeing. and it is set by default to expect the connection to be confirmed by the user requiring assistance.

What you need to set up is unattended access which is designed for use with headless devices such as servers in the latest release and using the new Beta User Interface, on the system you wish to access click on the Hamburger button and the second item there allows you to set-up unattended access, just follow the prompts and set the password - the one you will enter when prompted when connected. I would also stromngly advise that you set Teamviewer to start with windows and also consider setting up Wake-on-Lan options to ensure your access runs smoothly. Other important advanced settings include allowing login access for admin users so you can remotely re-boot systems

I did set it up as "unattended" access. I though the password it generated would be the one I'd use all the time. Guess I'll look at it again later when I get home
