how do i search for text within files in windows 7. it was easy in XP but can't figure out how to do it in 7.

i looked at tutorial but it doesn't help me display text inside of files. i really need this to work.

Thanx Jack Sparrow. I did get it to work but it is very primitive. I ended up installing Super Finder XT, much more refined.

Here is a great software for doing a Search inside a file. Plus you can replace the information if you need to.

Thanx everybody for their suggestions. Am now using both funduc and super finder xt. both are great programs, takes me back to my unix days when i felt i was in control.

Windows 7's built-in search method is the most user-friendly. I have all my documents, music, pictures and videos indexed. So I can search for text in any file within a fraction of a second.

I am on windows 7 in the corportate world therefore cannot install any software, is there a way to search for specific text within a file with out more software
