The Radeon R9 390X

More rumors of this new single gpu card from AMD.

The Radeon R9 390X would be quite the beast, featuring 4224 Stream Processors, 264 Texture Units (TUs), 96 ROPS, a Core Clock of around 1GHz, Memory Clocks hitting 7GHz or so, and a super-wide 512-bit memory bus.

I almost jumped on the Ti bandwagon, glad I waited, this looks like a monster gpu without the monster price.

well the r9 290x gived the 780ti a good run for its money in most games and over clocked its even better!

You could grill a steak med rare in no time. On my 2 air cooled gpu's I was seeing temps in the low 80's after a hour or so of full load. I reapplied the TIM (GELID Extreme) on the GPU and added a ultra thin layer on the memory chips. This has reduced max temps to the low 70's, idle temp went from 38C to 32C. I think I could get a few more degrees by using Fuji thermal pads instead of the oem stuff. I used Fuji on the h2o block and that 290X has never been over 50C.
