The solution to my PumHijackHo nightmare

As said a few weeks back i said i would share my cure . I finally got rid of my PumHijackHo issue . I had tried everything to no avail and just decided to use Dban, i wiped the drive with the Dod (short method) and after re installing (on a definitely clean ISO disk and dvd drivers disk ) i found that it had survived.

I then read some info that said you need to do the long wipe to make sure it gets everything and so i did Dban again and chose the Dod long method.

Well that did it, no more PumHijackHo , everything has been scanned numerous times and it's clean. It seems to me that just re formatting is not a definite cure for today's malware and even wiping the disk sometimes fails if you don't make enough passes.

Britton mentioned something about needing to make enough passes and it worked, so thanks.

So not a quick cure but the answer in this case, especially when malware is allowed to dig in deep.
