These people deserve our respect. But it is too bad that it is always the little people who have to stick their necks out. No sons and daughters of our politicians are amongst them.

I am a pacifist and firmly believe that we would have a much better world if all military would stay in their own country.

My German minister of defense declared that the German troups defend our country at the Hindukush (Afghanistan). That is complete BS. I have never seen an army from the Hindukush invade Germany.

A woman in Melvin, Mich., fell victim to a vicious cat attack after she attempted to shoo away a stray feline that was bothering her mother's dog. She kicked snow at the aggressive cat, hoping it would stop confronting the dog. Instead, the cat responded by charging at the woman baring its teeth and claws, according to WJBK-TV.

A security camera captured footage of the attack. The victim reported that she had taken in the stray during the summer. She said the cat, whom she named Buddy, had been "sweet as pie." But Buddy appeared to be anything but sweet when he leapt at the woman, sinking his teeth into her forehead and clawing at her face.

Along with a trip to the hospital, the victim also suffered a cellulitis infection, causing her face to swell up. County officials captured Buddy to conduct a rabies test, for which the cat had to be euthanized because brain tissue is necessary for the procedure. He subsequently tested negative for rabies.

Bob Hope was without a doubt one of the greatest entertainers of all time. A wonderful look at some special moments Bob spent with the troops during his many Christmas performances. Thank You to all the Veterans that ever spent a Christmas away from their family and to Bob Hope for spending his Christmas with the troops.

Getting away from the Chtistmasy stuff or a second. This is for all my fellow veterans and/or history buffs. (Everbody else will enjoy it too I'm sure.) During WWII, Warner Brothers produced a series of training cartoons for the troops, Originally created by Theodore Geisel (Dr. Seuss) and Phil Eastman, using all their best animators, writers, etc. (Mel Blanc!) These were essentially adult (language mostly but some cheesecake too) cartoons as they were meant exclusively for the troops. They dealt with various aspects of Army/military life and hostile situations. I've watched a few at the Internet archives, but while reviewing one (Booby Traps) I thought ,"why not see if they are on youtube". Lo and behold, yes they are! I highly recommend the "Private SNAFU" series to all veterans especially but please, even if not a veteran do yourself a favor and see why these cartoons have become legendary. Here's the one that got me started on this overly long introduction.
