How to Apply Custom Themes in Windows 7​

   Information

This will show you how to apply a custom theme from deviantART as your theme in Windows 7.

Here's How:
1. First you will need to click on the Download button below to download and install either the 32-bit (x86) or 64-bit (x64) Universal Theme Patcher (auto installer) below for your 32-bit or 64-bit Windows 7.
32-bit:

2. When downloaded, unrar the file using winrar, and run the exe.

3. Select your user interface language

4. Click OK

5. The click yes when this box appear.

6. The you need to patch these 3 files (As you see i already have mine patched) Click the patch outside each file, after patching them all reboot.

7. Now you need a custom theme, i will advise you to check these out:
New Orleans Saints by ~sergiogarcia9 on deviantART

Aero Evolution 1.0 by ~sergiogarcia9 on deviantART

Majestic Excellence by ~sergiogarcia9 on deviantART

Midnight by ~MrGRiM01 on deviantART

   Note

You can also find more themes on Deviantart, but make sure they work with windows 7.

They need to be unzipped first.

8. Now navigate to the Windows folder, find the folder called resources and click on the themes folder. (C:\Windows\Resources\Themes)
These are the files that has to be placed in the folder:

9. Then paste the folder and theme provided, then the theme should appear in your personalization menu

NOTE: In most themes there are only 2 files (a folder and a theme file)

Just powered this little biznitch up this morning and had the same issue.
I'll probably just uninstall this weekend and redo the install.

Did you run this?

It will find and fix corrupt files, it's the best thing to do after the theme patcher.

Let us know how it goes.

Heya derekimo.
I just ran the "sfc /scannow" command (ran as admin).

Interesting test result:
"Windows Resource Protection did not find any integrity violations."

I was really expecting it to find something and fix it for me.

i have downloaded mr grims and one of your themes and both dont have those 3 files you say i need in the themes folder???

Yeah, that picture is old of those three, just put those two you have in

C:\Windows\Resources\Themes and then go to personalization and change it.

I don't even know what theme that is in that screenshot.

What theme are you talking about?

Some of those are pretty old.

First, can you not type in all caps, it appears that you are shouting at us.

Second, I'm not the one who made the theme but I'll try to help.

Even works for windows 7 starter if u go to colour scheme change and a second Windows 7 Basic theme appears cheers guys

GO to the start menu type themes into the search box.

when it searchs it should come up with: Change the Colour Scheme

then just selectone of the two: Windows 7 Basic

one of them will be the theme u have installed

Thanks so much. I started having problems with my themes (they used to work fine) and i checked this out. It worked. it turns out two of the files un-patch after the service pack. After re-patch it all worked out great.

i already downloaded a theme "majestic excellence" and i already patched the universal theme patcher and i already pasted the folder to the themes in resources but still nothing happens help me please !!. thanks

hello I have followed all of the steps and my theme won't appear in the personalization menu thanks

Ok I installed the luna theme and did everything the universal patcher and paste it on themes, but its no in the personalization saved themes.
