I was just wondering what is your guys thought's on IE 8 compared to google chrome or Firefox? I used Firefox but after they came out with IE 8 it seemed to be just as fast (for the version of firefox I had) so I switch back. I did like Chrome but it seemed a little to Simplistic for me.

I like the IE8 which I use practically all the time. For a few things I also use Opera - I like their quick links starting page. I have tried Chrome and FF but they did not convince me. Both are pretty invasive and I guess FF is good if one uses a lot of the add-ons or plug-ins. But I like my stuff in the vanilla flavor and hate to keep track of all these extras.
As far as speed is concerned, I never noticed anything negative with the IE8 - in fact it is faster than Opera - at least on my systems.

Go with whatever you're most comfortable with! The speed makes little difference.

Browser Showdown: IE 8 vs. Firefox - PCWorld

"In practical, everyday use, you likely won't notice much of a difference between IE 8 and Firefox 3. Due to the fact that broadband connections are so commonplace today, and the fact that browsers in general can load pages faster than they could even a couple years ago, the page load time differences between the two are relatively moot. If you use Firefox and are happy with it, you may as well stick with it. That said, it is encouraging to see browser vendors compete with each other, and aim to ship the fastest Web browsers they possibly can."

I like IE 8, I would say my only complaint is there is no spell check feature which was the only thing I liked about FF.

I like how FF has many addons/options that IE does not. Chrome, on the other hand, seems to have too few options/settings.

I use Firefox because I am comfortable with it, and the few add-ons that I use are things I wouldn't want to give up. IE8 is there, in case my FF crashes, but I don't generally use it. Any speed difference between browsers would probably not be noticeable to me, given my internet connection.

Yeah I felt the same about chrome, I find it funny how they are releasing a OS that will be based on a browser that has so few options.

I use ie8 and like it, especially on Windows 7. I've tried the others and like them well enough (though Firefox sometimes seemed slow to load), but I seem to come back to ie8. I can't tell a speed difference between it and the others; in fact, sometimes it seems faster (I know various tests may say otherwise, but I'm talking about my perception in real-world use). I use the Accelerator feature more and like it. I like its built-in feed reader.

I like IE8 and would prefer to use it exclusively, but it has an annoying habit of crashing on some of the websites I visit. It only crashes one tab and then it recovers, but it is still annoying. I'm pretty sure it is Flash-related.

So I ended up using Firefox instead most of the time.
