Just a thought...

Have you tried going into Control Panel/Programs/Default Programs/Associate a file type or protocol with a program?

Just scroll down the list till you find your image files, like .jpg to check what it's Current Default is. Standard default for Win7 is Windows Photo Viewer.

Welcome to 7 Forums, Taurus.

You could try a system restore to before this happened. Info here if needed. http://www.sevenforums.com/tutorials/700-system-restore.html

Have you played with any settings. Folder options > view tab > make sure 'Always show icons' is unchecked.

Hope this helps.

Gary
