Solved Thunderbird Add-on

I found an add-on in Thunderbird that I didn't install. It's called "[email protected]" I googled it and found a website under construction, but not any info on this add-on.

I don't search from Thunderbird & I can't figure out how it got there or what may have installed it.

I doesn't seem to have caused any issues, so I removed it. I then scanned with Malwarebytes , MSE, & SAS, which found nothing.

Any ideas?

Your showing Avast as your Antivirus have you uninstalled it before downloading MSE ?
Running two Antivirus programs will not make you twice as safe/ protected,
Quite the opposite.
Uninstall one.
gsearch sounds more like a google add-on than Thunderbird ?

Yeah, I removed Avast, as the update to Avast 2014 is badly flawed and is causing some (including me) to have network issues. So I'm back to MSE (at least for a while). I'll update my profile to be current.

And I know about the MSE controversy, but it's been OK for me. And yes, I know better than to run multiple AV's.

I have MSE & Malwarebytes Pro running real time, and SAS Pro is only a daily scan, not real time.

AdwCleaner found nothing.

Go to the Startup section and take a screen shot and post it here,
Did you run the Uninstaller ?
avast! Uninstall Utility | Download aswClear for avast! Removal

Thanks bro, but I've already run the Avast uninstaller, and startup shows nothing out of the ordinary as I only have two items there.

My machine is running great, without any issues, so I'm not really looking for any sort of diagnosis, I was just wondering if anyone else has seen this odd add-on, and if so what does it do and where did it come from.

[Not Myself]

.msf is a "Mail Summary File" in Thunderbird, not an add-on. The file you found might be, for example, left over from a failed TB search, and be removed with likely no harm done.
