Thanks for all your replies, all going well i hope to order the machine today!

I hope its still running the latest games at playable framerates for the next 4 years like my old machine, its only really struggled for last 6 months

However you want to define it I would look at all board I/O including headers on the board for bringing ports out to the front of the case. It's certainly nice to bring USB 3 to the front.

True Michael, I have my keyboard, mouse, scanner, and UPS in back USB ports. With the on-board headers and some pass-through cables I have 4 each USB 2 and USB 3 connectors on the front.

In principle, your PSU should be fine, even with overclocking. The graphics card says it requires a 6 pin and an 8 pin PCI-E power connector. Your PSU has two, and as long as one is an 8-pin... But the PSU is a bit low end and may be marginal on the 12V:

If you want to replace it I would recommend a Seasonics X-650 (or 750-850 if you will ever SLI).

I would look at other vendors for the graphics card. In my little experience the EVGA are noisy. Might try MSI or Gigabyte or ASUS.

Haswell z87 boards are dead boards now so i would say dont invest in dead boards as well as chipsets......

haswell refresh z97 being the new Q2 14 no FVR on cpu would seem better for overclocking.... i could be wrong

What i would suggest as surly people would have said hopefully if your on a budget APU if your struggling for money same for FX

Having owned the haswell or as most people say hasfail i found the temps due to the fact the voltage regulator is on the cpu its hard to work with.... haswell refresh is aimed at fixing them problems moving the voltage regulator back on to the board meaning better temps........

FX 6300-8350 what ever is in your price band

APU you would have to ask some people which is the best for you due to im APU dumb lol

If you have a better budget just wait for the next intel products in Q2 2014 which will bring chipset Z97......as i have said Z87 motherboards are end of life pointless in my option spending on something that has no upgrade path etc.

Haswell refresh has been conformed to work on z87 but overclocking features won't work on haswell refresh k models only on z97 will feature haswell refresh overclocking
