Today I'm sure I'll have a bunch of meetings about a Windows 7 migration from last week. Yippee!!!

Today I completely ruined my laptop by accidentally deleting half of my system 32 folder.
Right now I am trying to salvage my hard drive by decrypting it (500GB equals about 5 hours of work ).
And tomorrow I am going to give my laptop a fresh install of Windows, and after that the customizing game begins

It might be recoverable using Startup Repair, or SFC /SCANNOW Run in Command Prompt at Boot from the Win7 DVD, even System Restore.

You can rescue files from unbootable Win7 using Copy & Paste - in Windows Recovery Console or Paragon Rescue Kit Free Edition 11.0 Free CD.

For reinstall folllow the same steps as with Clean Reinstall - Factory OEM Windows 7 to get and keep a perfect install.

I kind of messed around in cmd trying some stuff out, and that didn't really work out the way I wanted :S
But I fixed it with a clean install of Win7, and I even recovered about 90% of my old files!

I just realized that it's 1 year since I joined this forum!

Thanks for all the support everyone has provided me with since I've joined, there's too many people to name, but you know who you are I started out with every little real knowledge of Windows and computers in general, but this forum has helped me to progress massively
