Joan I'm sorry about how you're feeling today.. If you have Zicam there.. its a great help for all the sneezing and sore throat.. it's a small self contained little tube looking thing you have to break open .. then there's a q-tip like applicator with gel on it.. that one inserts in each nostril.. by holding one nostril while sniffing the gel into the nose, repeat for the other side. I have spring allergies.. sinus.. stopped up nose or running like a river..This is a great help to control it all.. I try to do the above at least 2 times daily ( one at bedtime.)

Thanks dr. mickey, only thing is don't have any spirits in the house, nobody drinks them, haven't had the flu jab, John has because of him being diabetic but they've never sent for me and I don't go to the doctors.

LPt I don't know if we get that over here plus I may not be able to take it because of my normal medication.

heres a post i made a while ago when arc was suffering,

sorry to hear your poorly,
if you can get or already have
lemons
ginger
honey

squeeze the lemon into a large mug ,removing the pips.
Peel then finely grate a chunk of ginger into the mug
fill mug with boiling water
add a dollop of honey to taste
infuse until brewed then drink.

the lemon will give you vitamin c which will help battle the cold you have
the ginger will soothe your throat and ease any soreness
the honey makes the lemon bareable .

I do hope you're soon feeling better Joan, there's nothing worse than colds and flu in winter.

Hot lemon juice laced with Brandy (Courvoisier is good ) will warm you up, but whatever you take, make sure you get plenty of fluids and loads of rest.

Well today I feel like death, all my joints ache, my head aches my nose is sore and why is it that whenever you're doing something and your hands are wet your nose starts to run.
The worst is sneezing because everytime I do my insides twist up.
But now I've got to go and prepare sausage casserole with dumplings for our dinner, don't know if I can eat it though. :huh:
