For us linguists, such blends, or portmanteau words, or examples of lexical interlocking are treasure troves and an expression of linguistic creativity ;-) Others, of course, consider such a phenomenon as contributing to the butchery and degradation of the English language. There are many ways of looking at it. I could go on about concepts of hybridity, but everyone would be bored to tears :p

Heh, we use "staycation" here, though it generally means taking time off but not even leaving your home. Usually getting stuff done to your home that you have no time to do because you are always working. I.e. yard work, special home projects, termite work, or maybe just enjoying your home for a bit without worrying about what all you need to get done this weekend etc...

Wow just lost connection, was trying to go to another page and it seemed to be taking a long time looked up at my router and it was trying to establish connection again and I was taken to the BT Broadband help page. :rolleyes:

Luckily it only lasted moments and I was back being connected, but it's something that doesn't happen very often so took me by surprise.:shock:
