Most of the Updates are for Microsoft Security Essentials, which is Microsoft's anti virus program. You must have installed it & MSE updates are usually installed every day to keep pace with AV needs. MSE updates are always shown in Windows Updates.

Your System Specs show that you have Avast Internet Security Pro. Is that still installed & up to date, if you wish to keep using that you should uninstall Microsoft Security Essentials as having 2 AV programs usually results in conflicts between them & subsequent odd computer behaviour. Of course if you don't want Avast then uninstall it. To uninstall Avast it's important that you go their website & download & run their uninstall utility as AV programs are often very difficult to completely uninstall.

I have no anti-virus software installed, But I do need to reinstall windows soon, it's been 6 years since It was installed and the software is getting very slow and jerky. I may update to win 10 to match my other PC's. Now I'll go install another update..lol

I've seen the Mother's of Invention and they were a necessity....

All those Microsoft Security Essential updates, definitely means you have Microsoft's anti virus software installed. Have a look in Control Panel & select Programs & Features & you should see it listed there as "Microsoft Security Essentials" & you should have a green icon down on the lower RH corner of the screen.
