Top 10 Reasons to Like IE 9

EVERY F#(K%%@ TIME I open it, it asks me to disable addons..

If you change the default time an add on has to load, then that message will only appear once the add on passes the time limit. If you set it for 2 seconds, then you should never see a notification again :)

i am not sure ie9 will be faster then FireFox and Google-Chrome, why????
because Firefox and Chrome updates/upgrades almost every month's their product while IE9 will wait another year or 2 years to update to a version 10 maybe.

IE9 is far from being complete however I fear it'll still end up being a disappointment. It's still slow IMO compared to the other choice, Chrome and Firefox. I'm currently using Chrome but I'm not the type of person who's loyal to any company, as soon as something better shows up I will jump ship.

However my predictions about IE9 can't really be tested until HTML5 becomes the majority norm around the net and websites are less dependent on Flash support, but as of testing IE9 now, it's too incompatible with many of the add-ins/gadgets and it's not as quick as the current browser champs. Safari's come a long way at improving its HTML5 support but it doesn't change the fact that it's still a slow and crappy browser, IMO.

Features are less meaningful in the real world than the speed, ease of use and compatibility of the browser.

You know what I hate the most about IE9 other than the fact it's IE?

EVERY F#(K%%@ TIME I open it, it asks me to disable addons..

IE is like a dyson vacuum, it'll never stop sucking

What I really like about IE9 is that it drives people like you totally bonkers. Of course, I don't have IE9. I have IE9 beta.

I've been using IE9 on all my computers since it came out. The latest build is pretty stable and the 32 bit version works with the standard flash and my ieSpell. I use it in the bare-bones mode and love the simplicity and extra space, especially on my small laptop (task-bar on the side). IE has never had a search Favorites feature and neither does IE9 but it's very easy to add. Just make a shortcut to your Favorites folder and put it anywhere you want, including Favorites itself. Still no spellcheck. Hopefully they'll add it or ieSpell will be made 64 bit. Seems as fast as Chrome to me and has "most popular sites" on new tabs like Chrome. I like the way IE auto-hides the bar in F11 mode. Chrome just has a tab hanging down (I programmed my middle mouse button to do F11). But mainly it just works and looks slick.

Tip: Right-click back arrow to see where you've been.

Of course. Like any other Windows app, when you put the mouse pointer next to it, see the double-sided arrow and slide it.

One bug i hate is IE9 puts a spurious "?" at the beginning of Live Mail messages.

The RC of IE 9 will include the ability to have tabs below the address bar so you can have the full length of the bar back. Now if only the search box could come back. Alas, still happy about that change.

Though I use Chrome almost all the time, I like IE9b and when it is released finally, I would like to use it full time because I think it works well with the Office apps. But what I'd like to see improved in IE9 (the final version) is:

(1) The realignment of the tabs (which as Darician says above will be fixed). This is really good news!

(2) A better/ more efficient Password Manager and how automated forms (including username and password fields are filled in - I like how Opera executes this and to a lesser extent how Chrome handles this. No idea about FF since I don't use it).

(3) There is a desperate need for an effective pop-up blocker. The inbuilt one is not very good and when set at the highest levels, it interferes with how links on pages open (either in color tabs or in new windows). Here is an example of a page which is very irritating in IE9b but which runs well (without popups) in Chrome: http://timesofindia.indiatimes.com/

(4) This one is a wish actually: I wish there is an app that allows me to send webpages directly to Windows Live Mail to be sent as an email. At the moment righ-clicking on a page allows you to send by Gmail/Live Mail etc. provided the relevant add-ons are installed. A similar add-on to send to the WLM email client would be nice and very convenient.

(5) Lastly, I notice that there is a bit of a lag when IE9 starts up as compared to Chrome. There is also a lag on opening webpages (again compared to Chrome). I don't why this happens, but I have tested this on quite a few machines with varying connectivity speeds.

If IE could handle most or all of these points, I think I would immediately move to IE9 and use Chrome as a secondary/backup browser.

Thanks

Edit:

(6) Someone mentioned spell check. This would be cool as a built-in feature of IE9 (the final release).

I should also add that what I do like a lot about IE9b is that text on sites (generally) are rendered very well - even compared to Chrome.

Tip: Right-click back arrow to see where you've been.
The drop-down arrow 6 to the right of the back-arrow, and the back-arrow Û have 2 different functions. The back-arrow Û just takes you back one level, but the drop-down arrow 6 lets you choose from all of the sites you have just visited, to select the specific one you want to return to. (Zirro is right, having to go into History to perform this function is very clumsy, as compared to just hitting one little arrow 6!)

And to make matters worse, when IE gets hung up, which it often does, the back arrow Û doesn't always work, so the drop-down arrow 6 also becomes a great 'fail-safe' feature. I hope MS will bring it back in the final IE9 version.

Have you tried "resetting" your IE? This may help your problem: In Internet Explorer, click Tools, and then click Internet Options. Click the Advanced tab, and then click Reset. Follow any on-screen directions. Close and re-open Internet Explorer.

Same here. I figure much like IE 8 Beta was awfully slow but the final was just fine, IE 9 in its final form will correct most of the performance issues. If not, then Microsoft is simply masochistic and loves to shoot themselves in the foot.

Love some of the changes, some I don't. To each there own I guess. The main reason I don't or can't use it anymore is the fact that too many of the sites I need/have to go on do not work in IE9B. For the life of me I don't understand why? I would not think that it would be so different from the the same company that makes IE8. You would think that at least web pages would open up. One of my sites uses SVG to show wiring diagrams that are color coded. No can do in IE9...

I started using Chrome about 2 months ago and I have to admit, I am really starting to like it. I just want to use IE though, that's what I am used to and was brought up with. Hopefully the final version will work!

We all say it's still "Beta" but if you think about the past MS stuff there was not a bug change from Beta to Final. At least from what I can remember.
