Solved Totally Random BSOD with windows 7 64 and RIVE

Did you run the Driver Verifier from an Administrator CMD window?

It should list the drivers it is checking, but shouldn't shut off that fast.

This is what I got. I was still able to boot in normal mode.

BTW I ran the intel diagnostic tool that you talked about, it passed.

Seems like I was rejoicing too prematurely. Just had 2 BSODs in a row (in the middle of office 2010 install). The PC has been stable for over 4 hours though for the first time ...

DMP files are attached. Might have been the installation though. I guess it isn't recommended with verifier running in the background

None of these were driver verified. Perhaps the driver crashing is not being examined, or perhaps verifier wasnt enabled.

This is know to have problems in win 7 and is from 2005. RTCore64.sys MSI Afterburner from Micro-Star Int'l Co. Ltd. It needs to be removed

> Your crash was driver verified {at last!!} and related to nvlddmkm.sys nVidia Display Driver.
We suspect it is in conjunction with your USBAUDIO.sys driver which was implicated in a prior crash.

Suggest you do the following:

Re-install your video driver using these instructions...

When upgrading your graphic driver you MUST remove all traces of the current driver.
In order to do that we recommend using

Phyxion.net - Driver Sweeper

When it is removed then download and install the fresh copy.

> I would also re-install the USBAUDIO drivers using the most current version available.
If no newer version is available I would re-install in compatibility mode.

Ok, I'm on it.

Usbaudio must be my g35. I haven't installed its drivers yet, so how do I uninstall them?

Edit: Oh I see, those are microsoft drivers. I have no idea how to uninstall those ...

I removed afterburner and reinstalled nvidia drivers after removing with driver sweeper.

We think you should wait to see if you get another crash before removing the audio driver.

Done, I had a BSOD with no drivers installed (except windows) and the update are turned off ....

I forgot to mention something though, every time I did a fresh install I used the shell:usersfilesfolder command to change the default location of the users folder to a stripped array (stripped in windows). Could this be adding to the problems?

How much RAM do you have installed?

Why are you moving the user folders to the RAID drive?

To rule out the SandForce SSD controller BSoD issue, can you install the OS on a HDD, then test for stability?
Disconnect the SSD during this test.

Are you writing a lot to the SSD?
Sandforce controllers will throttle down if you are doing a lot of writes or benchmarks.

Never mind, my bad, I had some drivers installed. Intel and realtek, I re installed windows again but skipped the realtek drivers, been running stable for quite a while but i haven't installed the nvidia drivers yet. Just RST, chipset drivers, Intel LAN. That's it, no BSOD or freezes so far. And I installed a bunch of other softwares, office, live messenger .... the whole shebang.

Next up is the antivirus which gave us problems before.

I'll keep you posted.

Oh and I did the installation on a normal HDD before, same issues.

I'm trying the installation of one driver at a time, test for stability and create a restore point every time.

EDIT: installing a bunch of windows updates ..... fingers crossed
