Touchpad on toshiba satellite L305D, Help!

On a Toshiba Satellite the touchpad is all together with the laptop cover and to fix it
I think I have to replace the whole cover to fix the touchpad, unless there is a way
to remove the touchpad board and replace that board, is there ?

In addition what have you done so far to try to repair the touchpad?

Use a USB or wireless mouse to perform these functions:

Enable Automatically deliver drivers via Windows Update (Step 3) then Check for Updates, install all Important and Optional Windows Updates, with reboots, going back to Check for Updates after each reboot until there are no more. There may be a chipset or touchpad driver for this, or a performance Update needed to make it work correctly.

If not, uninstall Mouse driver for touchpad in Device Manager, reboot PC to reinstall it.

If that didn't help, import the latest touchpad driver from the Toshiba Support Downloads webpage and install it.

If these fail I'd use a notebook mouse which is better anyway.

tks guys. one more question, Same type laptop, I power it on and and when it reaches the part where it says start window normally laptop reboots again, and again... When I remove the Keyboard it powers up normally with no problem.

Do I have to replace that keyboard ?

You never responded to the steps for repairing the touchpad. Was that resolved?

If you disconnected the keyboard and now it won't start correctly after reconnecting it then you'll need to figure out how to reinstall it correctly. Until then you can use a normal keyboard, including to run Startup Repair to see if that is the issue.

Touchpad ? I knew how to remove the cover and take out the touchpad, but I removed the plates that holds the
touchpad logic board, this board is like glued to th cover so I thought I had to replace the whole cover with touchpad.

Tommorow I will be doing some updates to see if it works, I will let you know what happened then.
