I have a Windows 7 USB which had been used to install Windows 7 on a HP PC a few times before and there was no such an error.
When I got my new PC about a year ago, this error showed up but a friend had helped me to go through that.
Now I have to install Windows 7 but neither me nor my friend remember how to solve this.

First I accidentally put it in a 3.0 port, and I corrected that.
I had flashed my BIOS also but no use.
My motherboard doesn't have the option to change to IDE mode but only option to disable SATA controller.
The port switching trick also didn't work.
I couldn't find a inf driver in ASROCK's website and I have tried a few other driver from other motherboard but it showed that they are incompatible (expected).

A new MB will have a chipset that requires drivers that aren't on Win 7 installation disk. You have to add those drivers (at least the USB3.0 driver) to the Win 7 installation disk. Read my tutorial Create a Windows 7 USB flash installation with new drives for new MB's - Windows 7 Help Forums

On BIOS you must disable Secure Boot (may be OS=other or CSM=enable).
As you have a UEFI BIOS, boot the installation disk as UEFI to install as UEFI- GPT.

You can use Download Windows 7* USB 3.0 Creator Utility but it will only add the USB 3.0 drivers to the installation wizard. You will end with a installation without USB, so if you don't have a PS2 mouse you can't browse to the MB CD to install them.

Yes, it is using UEFI but secure boot is disabled by default.

I only have a Windows 10 PC around and can I use that to complete the tutorial?

I have never tried, but I think dism will work the same way.
The Intel USB 3.0 creator has a Win 10 version.
The USB 3.x and SATA drivers are on the CD that came with the motherboard.

With a H110 chipset you won't be able to overclock the unlocked i7 6700k and use memory 2400 higher clocks. Only with a Z170 or Z270 chipset.

Thanks.
I think the inf drivers provided in the website is the same as the one in CD.
The motherboard is just temporary, and I am not planning to overclock now as well.
The UEFI has an option of PS/2 Emulator so actually the USB driver can be ignored but I will install that anyway.

Um
I have partitions on the disk which contain most of my data.
According to the UEFI Windows 7 guide,
I need a blank disk to do so.
Can I just do it on my disk without taking care of that? As I have done that before.
Otherwise I am going to install Windows 10 instead.

But still I am wondering why I can skip that step before.
I just vaguely remember that we changed some setting in UEFI and everything was done on that PC.

It is always a good procedure to have your data backed up before you start.

You have to find out if your disk is UEFI-GPT or Legacy-MBR.

To install as UEFI-GPT or Legacy-MBR is the way you boot the Win 7 installation disk.
During POST, launch the boot menu (F?). It will show two options to boot the Win 7 installation disk (USB flash or DVD).

If your drive is UEFI-GPT you must boot your Win 7 installation disk as UEFI, delete all partitions BUT NOT the one you have your data and install on the fist large partition.
You will end with
- UEFI Fat32 partition - 100M
- MSR RAW partition - 120M
- Big NTFS with Win 7
- Your data partition.

If your drive is Legacy-MBR you must boot your Win 7 installation disk as Legacy, delete all partitions BUT NOT the one you have your data and install on the fist large partition.
You will end with
- MSR RAW partition - 120M
- Big NTFS with Win 7
- Your data partition.

I think my disk is MBR as my current install only has one system reserved.

But now I can get into Windows 7 but having .Net Framework corruption even after a repair install.
I shall have a new thread for that.

Thanks anyway. :)

I think my disk is MBR as my current install only has one system reserved

To see if it is GPT or MBR you can use Disk management
Open disk management and on the View - Top - Disk list. On the partition style you going to find if it is a GPT or MBR.

Mine should be a MBR disk then, just checked.
But newer ones must have to use GPT on it? Like 850 EVO?

It is up to you.
I have mine as UEFI-GPT as I have dual boot (Win7 HP 64 and Lubuntu) and on UEFI you can have multi boot loaders.
