2.40 gigahertz Intel Core2 Quad
64 kilobyte primary memory cache
4096 kilobyte secondary memory cache

I had a problem with it last year that one of my drives failed and it had to be removed so now i only use my E: drive not the C: cuz it only has 74.4gb compared to my e: 698gb i don't know if that has anything to do with my problem. Some updates download and others dont.

Any help i would really appreciate, my computer hasn't been able to update for nearly 8 months.

Please open Windows Update, and do a Check for Updates.
If you get an error message at that point, tell us exactly what it is.
What happens if you attempt to install updates? - what EXACT error message do you get?

How much free space is there on your system drive?

I've searched Google and finally found this page.

I renamed my Download directory to Download.old, but it still did not do anything.

Then, I accidentally loaded Internet Explorer (I normally use Firefox). After loading IE and then trying the Windows Update out of frustration, the 800F0902 error went away. Windows Update started working again. (This was after trying it for about the fifth time, and the final time was after I loaded IE).

try these two solutions and let us know what the results are.

There is a world of differencebetween '64-bit ready' and '64-bit installed'
'64-bit ready' usually means that there's a 32-nit OS installed on hardware that is capable of running a 64-bit OS.
This is often because of being supplied with a low RAM count - which makes 64-bit less efficient.

You should be installing 32-bit updates (which will be delivered automatically by Windows Updates).

You are getting thigs confused, I suspect.
Please tell us EXACTLY what you did - the only 'Download' folder (not driectory) in Windows is irrelevant to what you seem to have done.
Terminology and names are important - or you could end up trashing your system beyond an easy fix, and there's not a lot we can do about it.
Please only follow direct advice - if you do follow another forum/person's advice, make notes along the way and let us know exactly what you've done.

Your 800F0902 error seems to be very much an unknown - I would start with using the Fixit from this page...
How do I reset Windows Update components?

Just a though. I can't give you a reason but I have always had better luck with Windows updates if I keep I.E. as my default browser. You don't have to use it for anythings else if you don't want to. Keep it installed, updated and default.
