Triple boot XP, Vista, and Windows 7...

Udpate:

I have since did what you said and got rid of my xp boot option within easybcd, I also added the specified parameters as you instructed via a command prompt...but when I try to boot to windows 7 from the boot manager, I still get that same error about an integrity checks...and I even disabled integrity checks. Any ideas?

Here is the new, and updated code:

Hi,

Having C as the system partition means not having to go to the games drive first , (which is where bootmgr, etc are) then back to the Vista drive - it is a bit more efficient. It also makes it tricky to alter the Games partition if it is System.

It's easier to have all the XP bootfiles on the same partition as Vista bootfiles.

That can be marked active and will be the System partition.

Should be able to add XP to Vista bcd - you need to make sure XP boot.ini is pointing to the partition XP o/s files are on.

You can have a look at boot.ini -it is a text file - just right click and open and see what it says. Something like this :
multi(0)disk(0)rdisk(0)partition(2)

Not sure why you are getting the error about an integrity checks.

Did you try running startup repair from the 7 dvd?

I cant really run a windows 7 repair because it will wipe the vista boot loader...and I *must* preserve that at all costs. It seems, for the moment...I am at a stand-still. Hmm....However, I'll go ahead and mess around with the windows xp boot and get it all set up properly again. You jogged my memory for how to do it. I haven't had to do it since like vista was first in existence. I also had to play the fun guessing game of multi(0)disk(0)rdisk(0)partition(2) -- where I had to just locate the place where it was booting to. I do not look forward to doing that again.

I do not recall how to read the difference between the multi, disk, rdisk. It's been too long since I had to mess with learning that and I have since forgotten : /

7 bootmgr and Vista bootmgr are the same thing. Since 7 is more recent, if you were to install 7, for example, it would recognize Vista and add it to bcd.

If you run 7 startup repair, it should find the 7 o/s files and add the bcd entries.

The boot loader is actually winload.exe which is on the o/s partition.

Bootmgr and the Boot folder containing bcd are on the Active partition.

I'm having the same problem but kind of different. I have to use 2 hard drives due to my brother wants to stick with XP. I have XP on C: which is a 111 GB hard drive, and the slave is setup with Vista and Windows 7 on a total of an 80 GB hard drive. well what is going on is that on Windows XP just loads no triple boot menu. but if I have the Slave set as Master I can choose between Vista and Windows 7 but cannot choose XP. Can any one help me? If so just send me a message to contact me so I can get it set right please and thanks

Also the BIOS detects the hard drive along with I can access the windows folders and all that in My Computer. The drive letters are G: for Windows 7 and H: for Vista
