I don't think you needed to spend any money for what you are after!

If you go here => Support Download [Packard Bell Download Centre (ALL Product)], and Search by Product Model and OS, I am sure it that it will give you the drivers that you require!

I hope this helps!

intel auto update is a good general purpose driver updater that requires zero expertise
Intel(R) Driver & Support Assistant

you know your drivers are good to go when you click start > click run > type in the word msinfo32 > press enter > click components > click problem devices and the right hand side of the screen (that shows problem devices) is blank.

I understand this will sound greek to you, but follow along and I bet we can solve this puzzle.

Your SMBus controller and PCI realtek network adapter are not working. The likely reason for this is your chipset driver (which is needed for both) is not working. So in order to update your chipset driver, we need to know exactly what motherboard you have. There are a lot of ways to do this, but the easiest is this:

click start > run > enter the three letters CMD > press enter

this takes you to what is called a "command prompt" which is a black window that says something like C:\Users...

at the command prompt type in this

wmic baseboard get product

and press enter. The window will reply to you with your motherboard model number. Post that here and we'll tell you where to get the chipset driver for it. Easy peasy.

edit: actually, an even easier method is to do start > run > type in the eight characters msinfo32 > press enter. This brings up a system summary. Your motherboard is off to the right and its called "System Model", so just tell us what is written just to the right of System Model.

Looks like the M3700 has an intel cpu and chipset. So here are a few further steps

1) try the packard bell autodetect and/or serial lookup to find drivers. See both "how can i find my serial" and "auto detect my serial"

Support Download. The onetwo models range from PW.U34 up to xx.UAP. Post your model here if you find it.

2) But if you can't get that to work, try the intel autodetect. The onetwo comes in both intel and amd processors, so since you have an intel processor (I think), the below program should work.

Intel(R) Driver & Support Assistant

3) And if that does not work, we'll need a little more info about your system to proceed. What do you see on the right hand side for for Processor when you do start > run > msinfo > system summary? It should be two lines below your motherboard model from earlier

This sint any good is it? Its an old driver ta my friend

Johnho, Ive just used the Intel assistance thing, and it says "Scanning your system"...and 20 minutes on its still saying that and the wheel spinning around.... does the scan take that long usually? Ive stopped it ...can you let me know please. Again, thank you very very much.

You should know im no chicken, im over 70 and all this is new to me, so if im slow, please forgive me LOL

yeah you should probably uninstall the intel driver assistant.

start > run > then type in

control appwiz.cpl

then press enter. That brings up the add/remove programs window showing all your installed programs. Click on the date column to sort them by date (you may have to click it twice) and find the Intel Driver Assistant program, right click on it, then select Uninstall. When its done uninstalling, reboot.

Then yes you do want to install the old driver you found on the Packard Bell site. A driver is software that allows windows to use a specific piece of hardware. If the hardware is old, a newer driver is not needed unless it fixes bugs that were present in an old driver, but if that was the case the newer driver would be present on the packard bell site. So install that old driver, then reboot. Hopefully your computer is then good to go. If not, post back here
