Hello Guys,

I have WinTV-HVR-1850 which has 2 coaxial input in the back, i wanted to recod tv shows from my Paid Programming "Cable TV" from COX Communications.

See i am running into few problems and wanted to see what are my best options. My HTPC With Win 7 64bit OS and Windows Media Center and i have 3 Hard drives in it. First drive is OS SSD , Second drive is 250GB Empty , Third Drive is 250 Empty

I want to be able to:

1- Recode TV Shows
2- Be able to Recode 2 or 3 shows at same time if they are air in same schedule date and time
3- When i try to select the Big bang theory it actually selected all 51 episodes that was suppose to be broadcasted in that week which will take a lot of space.

So what you guys recommend me to do here

Thanks in advance

You can record TV shows but not more than one at a time on the same input. Your HVR-1850 has two input ports (tuners). One is analog and one is digital. The digital tuner would be for Over-The-Air (OTA) signals from an antenna or from a QAM signal (If your provider supplies the signal through your cable box input via a spitter.) The analog input would be composite or S-Video from your cable box. You still can't record two different shows at the same time since the cable box can only output one signal for the channel selected. Added: You can record a QAM signal and a cable box signal at the same time though.

If you select to record a show by name, it will schedule a record for all shows with that name. If you want to record specific show times, you need to select the time slot for the show you want to record. You can also specify a from/to time period to record for a given date. The recording schedule can't overlap other channels since the blaster will try to tune the cable box to the new channel and the previous channel signal will be lost.
