Hello,

I updated windows media disk with intergrate7, injected uefiseven files to media disc to bypass freezing. Successfully installed OS. But my system restarts when OS tries to load and briefly freezes at startup logo. Tried to inject uefi seven files with linux to bypass security, but still freezes. Simply, I need advice.

C:\Windows\Boot\EFI is this correct path for uefiseven?

Thanks

Ask the developer of uefiseven. I dont use it, but I would think it more likely to be on the esp partition rather than the os partition.

Welcome to the Forum.

I suppose you want to install Win 7 on a new hardware.

New hardware requires some drivers (SATA, USB3.x, NVMe) that Win 7 installation don't have. That is why mouse an keyboard doesn't work when you boot from the in 7 installation drive.
You need to add those drivers to the Win 7 installation drive.

What is uefiseven files? Where did you get those files?

I succesfully installed winodws 7, with UEFIseven mod to fix freez when booting windows setup. Problem is I cant boot Windows itself.

So i did replace files in efi shell enviroment, but i still jhave problems. Instead of freez/semi corrupted screen, i get stuck image, when i press power button to sleep mode, then again. I get resume windows that results in blank screen.

Intel Core i7-6700HQ
i only need to install IGP drivers, or have UEFIseven working, it's working, but blank screen is not a working enviroment. :D

This thread is done by the developer of eufiseven, so it has probably the best information. But eufiseven is not guaranteed to work on all machines.

There are also a small number of threads about eufiseven on the win-raid forums.

My laptops are all CSM-capable so I have no current use for eufiseven; therefore no hard experience with it.

Hi , could someone please tell me why the difference and which one is correct ?

1. Prepare Windows 7 installation USB Drive
2. Rename bootx64.efi at (UsbDrive)\EFI\Boot\ to bootx64.original.efi
3. Unpack bootx64.efi from UefiSeven archive and copy it to (UsbDrive)\EFI\Boot\
4. (Optional) Copy UefiSeven.verbose to the same directory to enable verbose mode
5. Install Windows then on reboot use Bootice to assign drive letter and then notepad to
6. Rename bootmgfw.efi at (ESP)\EFI\Microsoft\Boot\ to bootmgfw.original.efi
7. Copy UefiSeven bootx64.efi to (ESP)\EFI\Microsoft\Boot\ rename it to bootmgfw.efi using EFI shell

Per uefi creator UefiSeven: Easily boot Windows 7 on UEFI class 3 devices | manatails' blog

 1. Rename bootmgfw.efi at (HDD)\EFI\Microsoft\Boot\ to bootmgfw.original.efi
 2. Copy UefiSeven bootx64.efi to (HDD)\EFI\Microsoft\Boot\bootmgfw.efi using EFI shell

why the difference and which one is correct ?

Since my above-quoted post from April 2021, I've aquired an HP laptop UEFI Class 3 only on discount. I have successfully installed Win7 on it (i5-10210u) so there is some experience now.

The answer is that both are correct, it's just that your 2nd set of instructions (nos. 1 and 2) are in fact the same as nos. 6 and 7 from your 1st set of instructions. In other words, instruction set 1 is complete, instruction set 2 is only the last two steps in the process.

Note that
(ESP)\EFI\Microsoft\Boot\ and (HDD)\EFI\Microsoft\Boot\ are the same address. My nomenclature would be: C:\EFI\Microsoft\Boot\

Perhpas your UEFI Bios, like mine in a budget machine, is cut down to not very much at all and so has no UEFI Shell to do those last two steps. You can get around this by using an independent Win10PE USB boot stick with a heap of useful programs on it (just search for Win10PE boot ISO's). SWI2 on this forum has posted his own version of such a utility.

See:

Installing Win 7 Pro SP1 on a UEFI Class 3 Gen 10 Laptop

for my experiences on resolving the PCI driver issues

Your "PCI Simple Communications Controller" has no Win7 driver as Intel designed it only for Win10, 11 etc. No Win7 driver has ever been written, none exist. Win-Raid guru tried a modded driver but it failed. Just find drivers for all the "unknown devices" and system devices you can and then disable this Simple Communications Controller.

You will probably have trouble with the touchpad as again, this is now run off a new variation of an Intel IO Serial Controller and no Win7 driver is written for it. None at all. I managed mine as a simple "mousepad" (tracks cursor and the L/R bars work) but no extended "gestures" or menus.

And I repeat: use an independent USB Win10PE boot with a heap of diagnostic programs on it to find what those "unknown" devices are. Just search for such a Win10PE ISO.
