Love it... why? Vista takes advantage of a 36bit interaction tweak and hardware hack. It's not true 64-bit hardware interaction, even for the x64 releases.

I'm not too sure on the details, but from the looks of things W7 x86 simply uses the 64bit memory management system as a base and can still use 64bit ram addressing once the tweak is applied, since every current processor is 64bit capable.

MS has been leaning towards the 64bit side for a long time already. But the market wasn't even there for it just a few years ago before Vista's release reintroduced the 64bit desktop.

Hardly any home users paid attention to the 64bit XP until Vista's release which broght more attention to that and the 64bit Linux releases. Since Vista came far more people are already looking at the 64bit 7 at this time.
