I have 2 computers running Windows 7, my home pc and a HTPC I have built. Both are connected to my homegroup. Both are set to workgroup. Both have the advance sharing features set with no password sharing. Attached to the HTPC via usb is an external 2TB drive with media on it. I want to access that drive and all the folders from the home pc over the wifi network.

On my home pc I can see the folders that are shared on the HTPC. When I click on one I get an error saying I do not have permission to access the file. All the folders and the external drive are set to be shared on the home network and read/write by Everyone.

What am I doing wrong?

I'm sure you allowed for sharing through the sharing tab of the 2TB drive, but unless that drive was created with the same User name as the one you are using then you may need to go into the Security tab of the drive and make some adjustments there as well. The link below shows you how. :)
