I'm running Win 7, build 7100 on my all three of my computers. On my OLDEST System I consistently fail to get a successful Burn of a CD/DVD.

The system consists of :

A7N8X Deluxe Ver 2.0 MB
Athlon XP 2600+ @ 2.08 GHz
Bios Rev 1006
ATI Radeon 9600XT
1 Gig of memory
PIONEER__DVR-116D, Firmware V. _1.09 (IDE)
Win & Build 7100

Any suggestion on what could be causing this problem. Would really appreciate some help here so that I can save some data to a DVD.

hi and welcome to SF
there are a bunch of different possible causes. It could be a dirty lens in the dvd, some carefull dust off might help (keep the can upright or you will get freon instead) it could be a driver has become corrupted (try upgrading the dvd driver).

Is it a laptop or desktop? If desktop it could be a cable.

If your ultimate goal is to save data, do you have another computer and a usb cable?

Let us know and we will see if we can get y ou going

Ken,

The Pioneer drive is a new drive from Newegg earlier this year.

The computer is a desktop.

I have usb drives that I can put the data on and then burn it from my other system but I would really like to resolve why I'm having problems on the computer.

Thanks for the welcome.
