Unable to fin the XMP profile on my BIOS..

I got new RAM today and I want to set my M5A78L-M/USB3 ASUS

The RAM I got is at 1600Mhz but it is only Running at 937Mhz I was told to put my BIOS to XMP mode, but I have looked everywhere on it and cannot see any "RAM profiles" or anything like some other people have.. thanks.

Thank you for showing me this mate, but I am still unable to fin any Profiles, under tools I all I have is ASUS OC utility thing and a EZ2 flash setup thing, the ASUS OC utility does not seem to have anything in it for RAM profiles, I also could not find any info on XMP on that manual you showed me, Sorry man I am really new to BIOS's and stuff like this, thanks man for taking time out of the holidays to help me out !

In you case it would not be the Intel® Extreme Tuning Utility....


As you have a AMD Chipset .. So i looked under Utility's on your Motherboards Website ..


Could it be the ASUS EPU-4 Engine you need ?

Well I got Corsair VENGANCE for Xmas so I am not able to buy new ram and what is the ASUS EPU-4 can I download that.. ?

I actually think the Program you need is the AMD OverDrive Utility ... And not the ASUS EPU it seems just for Power Management

hey man I downloaded it, but again no profile settings just a bunch of numbers.

On the left hand side it says AMD Smart Profiles ... What happens when you click on that ? ...

The ASUS M5A78L-M/USB3 does support all of the current FX CPU's, IF the BIOS is 0411 or higher if not it won't boot. Next, the FX CPU's IMC is rated stock for DDR3-1866 IF the RAM has a 'SPD' JEDEC of 933MHz, but not if the kit's 933MHz is XMP. If using XMP kits the RAM runs at the highest available non-XMP up to 933MHz (DDR3-1866). To correct this the RAM must be manually set in the BIOS.

but the real issue is that I do not get any of these options, like that "dram" profile I do not get. .

I think the answer is in the BIOS you have to configure the Ram Manually

Reading through the Manual only some Settings are adjustable the rest has to be done through the BIOS ...
