Hello guys and nice to meet you .
I have a very annoying installation problem. Everytime i insert a game dvd in the dvd drive the autoplay shows up. When i attempt to install by selecting setup, the setup installation wizard never appears. The mysterious part is that after every installation attempt, when i open task manager in the "processes" tab, there always is a task named "setup.exe" with 96kb memory system usage despite the game i try to install.(The usual setup.exe has, of course, much bigger usage)
I've already run a scan with KAV 2010 and everything is clean and clear .
I don't know if this helps but imo i should mention that some time ago my laptop was infected by autoran.inf trojan by an infected usb stick.Btw I instantly deleted it.
Any ideas ?

Others may have a specific fix, but the only way to be sure you are beyond infection is to clean reinstall to a wiped HD: http://www.sevenforums.com/tutorials/91339-ssd-hdd-optimize-windows-reinstallation.html

If you have a factory installation, this can be accomplished by doing a destructive recovery using Recovery Disks or running Factory Recovery from boot by tapping the key given on first boot screen or in Manual or setup literature. Read your Manual on Support Downloads webpage for your computer model.

Backup data externally if you must save it but scan it thoroughly using MSE and Malwarebytes.

Some older games will need to 'Run as Administrator"

Browse the files on the disc, and look for the setup.exe.
Right click it, and run it as Admin.

Go to device manager check DVD for errors.
Turn off auto play. Insert disk and navigate to setup manually.
Some games will want to be install directly to the C:\. Update issues with program files.
Also UAC, monitors, program files changes. Can be annoying, right click icon>run as admin as stated above, is necessary generally with UAC enabled.
