Solved Unable to install video drivers

In the last few days I have added a larger Hard Drive (3TB) to my system to be the main drive of the system, and all went well untill I tried to install the Graphics Drivers of my existing AMD Radeon HD 6700 series Card which installed OK on my other Drive (I don't know why) at this time.

What I did and what happened:
First I restarted the system after I had installed all the mother-board drivers, and replaced the mother-board DVD with the AMD driver disc and executed the installer from the disc.
BTW the system had been running in 640 x 480 resolution since starting the installation of the new drive.
The first 2 screens worked fine in this resolution, the the next screen was displayed which is where everything came apart, because the size of the next screen was too large to fit on the screen so the bottom of the screen was cut off the bottom, which of course is where the buttons were that needed to be pressed to continue the installation.
I have tried eveything to be able to press the required buttons, but to NO avail, so at this time everything is running except the Graphics Card and Driver.

I would appreciate any help. I think I managed it once before but I have forgoton how I did it (unfortunatly I am now Old as my daughter told me today, and my memory is on it's way for a holiday) so I just hope it comes back soon.:shock:

I'd just use one monitor until you have the AMD drivers and Catalyst Control Center installed. Then go about sorting out your multi monitor setup.

Trying to understand the sequence of what you did ...

So, you had Win7 installed on another drive and the AMD drivers -- and they worked OK, right?

Then, you formatted a 3TB drive and reinstalled Win7 from scratch to that, right?

After that, you rebooted and had only 640x480 res with the default MS driver, right? (which is odd, because I have an onboard AMD chip and when I installed Win7, it defaulted to full resolution with the default MS drivers).

So, you inserted the AMD driver CD and tried to install the drivers, but when the third screen came up, it was oversized and you couldn't scroll down to click selection buttons, right?

So -- what is your current situation? What is the resolution you're seeing at present?

You should try doing a driver update through Control Panel. That should install current MS drivers that should give you much better resolution.

Need help with graphics driver stopping new drive to boot

A few weeks ago I purchased a 3TB Hard Drive to ad to my system, normaly a fairly easy job, but this time I am stumped.
After I installed the drive I installed the motherboard drivers with no problems and the system was booting up with no problems, that was until I installed the AMD HD 6700 Series drivers (that I had installed several times before with no problems) but this time, after installing and the driver asked for a re-start the system got as far as the Win Logo and then Stopped.
I went through to same procces many times but each time with the same result.

The only thing I can think of is that it is to do with the 3TB Hard Drive, as it aprears That I have lost the use of the space over the 2TB part of the drive.
Is it possible that the size of the drive is making problems for the Graphics card drivers?

Anyway if someone can assist me to get past this problem I would be very gratefull.

Unless you use GPT, you're going to be limited in size to 2TB partitions.

Don't know if Win7 Disk Manager will format using GPT, bit if it doesn't, you can always download and install the free version of Minitool Partition Wizard and use that. That's what I did for my 3TB drive.
